Difference between unique pageviews and sessions

What are unique pageviews and unique sessions

As you may have imagined from the name pageviews, it is the number of views your page has. Whenever you write a blog post it gets posted on your listed page. Your each blog post act as a different page and whenever any viewer clicks on your page or read your post its counted as a pageview. So, unique pageviews are the views which your post or page has received in a day. Google analytics gives you the day-wise data of your pageviews and sessions. You should have different page for your blog posts and different for contact and about information. Also don’t forget to add privacy policy page in your site, its very important.

Unique sessions means number of times a new user spends a time on your website. In session you can receive multiple pageviews if the user is clicking on all your pages. So, the time spent by a user on your site is counted as a session. If a user has spent 5 minutes on your site or blog and read your 10 posts on different pages then you will have one unique session and 10 unique pageviews. And if that same user visit your site again after some time then it will not be counted as unique session but it will add up to average time spent in a session.

Similarly, if a user left your site on some page and then he/she comes back to the same page after some time it will not be counted as a pageview, but if he clicks on another page and then again visit that page then you will have two pageviews.
